The birth of the
shadow figures
A journey inside
- Departure -
Uomo Nero does not simply create works of art - he materializes visions, extracts essences from the unconscious and shapes them into portraits of the soul. His creative process resembles an alchemical transformation: a ritual in which perception, emotion and intuition flow into an unmistakable visual echo.
In the first phase of his work, Uomo Nero immerses himself in a state of deep meditation. Through astral journeys and inner contemplation, he engages in a form of introspective archaeology: he penetrates the layers of his own and collective memory until luminous figures emerge from the shadows. These apparitions - fleeting and yet inescapable - are examined in direct comparison with the present and transferred to the physical world in a single, uninterrupted flow.
With a permanent tool, he draws his iconic figures using the one-line technique - a method that allows no correction. No slipping, no hesitation, no repetition. Every stroke is final, every line a manifesto. In this way, past and present, consciousness and subconsciousness merge into a single, pulsating network of forms and connections.
- Arrival -
Once the inner image has been captured, the second part of the journey begins: a meticulous rearrangement, a technical realization with surgical precision. The sketch is transferred to new dimensions - often on canvas, sometimes in three-dimensional form as a sculpture. Uomo Nero remains true to the essence of his vision: it is not the medium that is sacred, but the truth it contains.
His painting lives from a strict reduction to black. It is not the color of darkness, but the stage of light. Everything that appears white in his works is the untouched material itself - a deliberate tension between presence and absence. The figures emerge from the darkness, only becoming visible in the darkness, as if they had previously been hidden in the glaring light.
